Strengthening menstrual cycle awareness: The inner 4 seasons

Do you experience changes in your well-being over the course of a menstrual cycle, e.g. regarding your needs or your energy level? Would you like to better understand your body's signals during your cycle and learn how to deal with them? Or maybe you already feel quite connected to your body but would like to learn about different ways to get through each phase of your menstrual cycle even stronger? Regardless of whether you have already dealt intensively with your cycle or this topic is still new to you—in this course you will learn ... • basic knowledge about the menstrual cycle; • how observing your cycle and the model of the inner 4 seasons can help you to better understand your menstrual cycle and how you can use this knowledge to take good care of yourself in the future; • what specifically helps you to improve your well-being in the individual phases of your menstrual cycle; • which movement and mindfulness exercises are good for you during your cycle by actively trying them out. From the start of the course, you will also be accompanied by a workbook with exercises for each lesson. Accompanying the course, this workbook will support you in observing your menstrual cycle, (self-)reflecting, and consolidating the course content. Furthermore, you can use it as a reference book after completing the course. The workbook is attached as a PDF—why not download it right away! Note: Observing your menstrual cycle with the inner 4 seasons model is only helpful for menstruating people who do not use hormonal contraception, i.e., who go through a natural hormonal cycle. In addition, this course does not deal with the so-called natural family planning (NFP) as a method to monitor your cycle to make accurate predictions, e.g., for contraception or if you wish to have children. Rather, the method described here is about getting to know yourself and perceived changes better and being able to respond to them.Structure of the courseThe course is structured as follows: After an initial self-assessment and examination of your own beliefs about menstruation, you are going to receive basic information about the menstrual cycle, the seasonal model, and instructions on how to observe your cycle. Alongside the course, you are going to observe your menstrual cycle. You are going to learn about the menstrual cycle tracker required for this in the lesson on cycle observation and can also find it in your workbook. This is followed by 4 content blocks—one for each inner season or cycle phase, consisting of ... • a detailed overview of the inner season's characteristics, • a further lesson with helpful information for this phase, • a movement exercise, • a mindfulness exercise, and • a reflection unit. At the end of the course, a final reflection and self-assessment are going to round off your journey to enhanced menstrual cycle awareness. Note: All too often, menstruation is only associated with girls and women. But not all women menstruate, and not all who menstruate identify as women. Trans, non-binary, or gender-neutral people can also bleed monthly. Therefore, this course uses the term menstruating people or menstruating individuals. This refers to women and other groups with menstrual experiences. However, the information contained here may be of interest to all people in general, regardless of whether they are directly affected or not.Timeline of the courseThis course is ideal to accompany an entire menstrual cycle, starting with your next period. This allows you to work on the lessons during your individual cycle phases. Therefore, the duration of the course depends on the length of your individual cycle and is approximately between 23 and 35 days. First, take your time to work through the introductory lessons (Lessons 1 to 5). Next, it's best to start with the subsequent lessons on the inner winter (Lessons 6 to 10) when your next menstrual cycle begins (day 1 of your menstruation). During each season, you can complete the associated exercise lessons for this cycle phase at your own pace. Are you ready to start?
